Thank you for choosing to contribute to the future of hospice and palliative care research by presenting at the 2027 State of the Science Symposium, a full-day pre-conference symposium taking place March 17, 2027, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, PA, before the 2027 Annual Assembly. Researchers, clinician scientists, educators, and interdisciplinary teams are invited to submit proposals for one of two presentation opportunities.

Submissions are now open through August 31st and 11:59pm PT. Notifications of selections will be sent in late October. Faculty selected to present are required to: register for the State of the Science Symposium, attend the symposium in person, cover applicable registration fees, arrange and pay for travel and lodging expenses.

Please note that virtual presentation options will not be available. AAHPM and HPNA welcome proposals that: include interdisciplinary perspectives, advance health equity, support inclusive leadership, foster workforce diversity, and promote collaboration across disciplines.
