All nomination submissions and applications will be done through the AAHPM’s OpenWater portal. To access any of the open calls, members will first have to log in. Please use your AAHPM member login credentials. Once logged in, choose the program application you wish to enter by click on the name in the navigation bar above. The application portal works best when using the browser Google Chrome. Internet Explorer can sometimes be problematic.
 

Applications

Award Nominations - AAHPM members are invited to nominate colleagues or themself for any of the AAHPM 2022 awards. All eligible nominations will be reviewed by the Awards Committee for consideration. The call for nominations is now closed.

Board and Committee Nominations - AAHPM members are invited to nominate colleagues or themselves for positions on the 2022 Board of Directors or the Nominating Committee. This year’s Board vacancies are for physician members. Although there are two non-physician positions on the board, these positions carry a three-year term and are currently filled. The call for nominations is now closed.

Call for Community Leaders - Consider becoming a community leader of one of AAHPMs Special Interest Groups (SIGs) or Forums. Becoming a part of a community's leadership team is the perfect way to stay informed about the work of the Academy and helps ensure your unique group voice is heard. Application cycle closed February 13, 2023. It will reopen in the fall.

Fellows of the Academy Application - One of the highest honors the Academy can bestow on a member is recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (FAAHPM). The FAAHPM application closed September 28, 2022. It will reopen in summer 2023.

Journal of Pain and Symptom Management (JPSM) Editorial Board Application - Join the JPSM editorial team today and become an Associate Editor! The editorial leadership team is currently seeking applications for three Associate Editors that will be responsible for defined content areas. The call for nominations is now closed. 

Hospice and Palliative Medicine Access Fund Scholarship - This scholarship program is intended to facilitate Annual Assembly participation and will cover meeting registration (excluding pre-conference workshops) and $500 toward travel-related expenses (i.e. airfare, hotel, cab fare, meals) for those attending in-person. Application is closed January 19, 2023.

International Scholarship - provides financial support and access to quality education for physicians who reside in developing countries by helping them attend the Annual Assembly. Application is closed February 16 at 11:59pm CT.

PC-FACS Editorial Leadership Team Application - The call for Editor-in-Chief closed on March 9, 2023. 

Research Scholars Program Application - This program provides funding to participate in the Annual Kathleen M. Foley Palliative Care Retreat and Research Symposium of the National Palliative Care Research Center. The 2023 application is now open through April 3.

Y.C. Ho/Helen and Michael Chiang Foundation Fellowship Grant Program - This grant has awarded AAHPM $90,000 grants in 2014, 2016, 2018,2020, and 2022 to partially support either an adult hospice and palliative medicine fellowship training program that offers a pediatric track or a pediatric hospice and palliative medicine fellowship training program preparing physicians to practice as a pediatric hospice and palliative medicine (HPM) subspecialist following training. Application is now open through May 19, 2023.

 

FAQs

► Do I have to start and finish my submission in one session? No. You can start your submission and come back to finish it before the applicable program deadline date. You will be able to find the started application under the 'My Applications' tab, located on the left-hand side of the page, once logged in.

► How will I know my submission has been received? Upon submitting your entry, you will receive a confirmation e-mail message containing your submission details.

► What should I do if I did not receive a confirmation e-mail containing my submission details? First, check your junk mail folder - the most likely problem is that your spam filter sent the e-mail there.  If you don't find it in your junk mail folder, please contact AAHPM Member Services at 847.375.4712 or info@aahpm.org.

► Can I revise my submission after I've hit the "Save and Finalize" button? Yes, but you must contact AAHPM's Member Service to request access to make changes through the portal.

► Can we submit a few days late? No. In the interest of fairness to all participants, no late entries will be accepted.
